Privacy Policy
Draft for review. This is a starting draft, not legal advice, and it has not been reviewed by a lawyer.
The owner and a qualified legal professional should review and complete it before it is published. Highlighted items need the owner's input. Statements about service providers describe the site as it is currently built and should be checked against the final setup.
Who we are
Knutify (legal business name and form, to be confirmed) is a technology studio based in Canada, in province or territory. This policy explains how we handle personal information shared with us through this website or by email.
We aim to handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and any provincial privacy law that applies to us. Confirm which laws apply, for example Quebec's Law 25 or the Alberta or British Columbia PIPA, based on where you operate and serve clients.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you use the contact form or email us, we receive the details you choose to share, such as:
- your name and email address;
- the service you're interested in;
- your message, and anything else you include, such as business details, files, or links.
Information collected automatically. This website doesn't use analytics, advertising, or tracking tools, and it doesn't set cookies. Some technical information is still processed by the services that deliver the site:
- Website hosting. Our hosting provider, provider name, for example GitHub Pages, may record technical details such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested, for security and to deliver the site.
- Fonts. The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser sends a request, including your IP address, to Google's servers.
How we use information
We use the information you share to:
- reply to your enquiry and discuss your project;
- prepare proposals and, if we work together, deliver and support the work;
- keep reasonable business records and meet our legal obligations.
We don't sell personal information, and we don't add you to marketing lists without your consent.
Service providers and storage outside Canada
We use trusted providers to run the website and handle communication. They may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws. These providers include:
- our email provider, for example Google (Gmail), which stores the messages you send us;
- our website host, listed above;
- our online form provider, for example Formspree, once the contact form is connected, which receives form submissions and forwards them to us.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiry information for retention period after our last contact, unless it becomes part of a client project, in which case we keep it for as long as we need it for that work and our records.
How we protect information
We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, and we limit access to people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive information, such as passwords or financial details, through the contact form or by email.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to how we use it, subject to legal and contractual limits. To make a request, email us at [email protected]. We'll respond within 30 days.
If you have concerns about how we've handled your information, please contact us first. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or your provincial privacy regulator if one applies.

Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or providers change. We'll post the updated version on this page with a new effective date.
